Exciting evening was held for all to enjoy! In the winter of 2016 my friend Tim Henry, the Head of Music at Richmond Hill High School, and I had lunch. One of our discussions was about the School Song. I had great memories of the welcoming assembly that featured all 650 of the students belting it out at the Wright Street building back in the day. Alas, Tim tells me they no longer sing it. That day I had a thought, how could I use the tune in a composition that the Gold Band could play.
A little Internet search revealed a song called The Lass of Richmond Hill. Viola! So I wrote a march using these two tunes for concert band titled Wright Street march.
